First and foremost:
• Rest assured your event will not be outsourced to high school/college students (common practice!). When you book Harmony Strings, you are booking degreed, classically-trained professionals from Juillard and beyond who have been performing together for over 15 years. The person you speak with will be one of the musicians performing at your event. Here at Harmony Strings, we believe in upholding the integrity of our profession.
• We are a string quartet, not an agency. What this means is you will speak directly with the musicians who will be performing for your event. There is no "middleman." Therefore, no information will get lost in the shuffle. It is your dream day, and we treat it with the utmost care and professionalism. We do not outsource. It is common practice for agencies to send in random amateur musicians who do not know each other to appear as a tight-knit group. We are dedicated professionals who are passionate about performing flawless music for your wedding.
• Our quartet has won 34 industry awards based on client reviews, including the Hall of Fame, Gayest & Greatest, Couple's Choice, & Best of Weddings!
• When it comes to weddings, we are experts at tailoring the music to the moment. Our experienced professionals will time each song accordingly so the music ends at the nearest cadence at just the right moment. We've all heard horror stories of live music suddenly screeching to a halt, disrupting an otherwise beautiful wedding ceremony. Your wedding day is much too important to put in the hands of an inexperienced group of amateur musicians. With Harmony Strings, you can rest assured that your wedding music will flow seamlessly from one song to the next, and it will sound as if each song was composed for just that moment in time.
• We are passionate about learning new music and performing the music that you love! Our repertoire consists of hundreds of modern songs and classical pieces and we’re constantly adding to our list.
• We also have a wedding gift for you! We offer to learn 2 new cover songs free of charge for each couple, so be sure to let us what you have in mind when you request a quote! (2 months prior notice required per our staff composer.)
• We have a professional composer on staff (with a master’s degree in music composition) to create custom covers of your song requests. Unlike other groups, we do not buy random subpar sheet music off the internet from amateur wannabe composers). The quality online is vast and mostly terrible because they are mostly created by random amateurs. You will receive a top-notch professionally created cover of your songs, and we will customize it until you are satisfied with how it sounds. Because of this, our songs actually sound much better than other quartets!
• We truly care about each event. We love what we do and are grateful to be a part of so many beautiful memories. To the clients who took the time to write such kind words in online reviews and in handwritten thank-you cards, we are forever grateful. It is because of them that we have won 34 awards since our inception, and we are truly honored.
• Last but not least: We are perfectionists! We are known for being meticulously detailed when it comes to performances, and we spend countless hours prepping, practicing, and preparing for each and every event. Here at Harmony Strings we take our job seriously, and we will always arrive early and prepared.

The following will be in effect for outdoor performances: Unlike other groups, we do not use factory-made, mass produced instruments. Carefully chosen professional Violin Makers called Luthiers create each custom made instruments to the highest international professional standards. To put this in perspective - Our instruments each cost more than the average car. This means we are extra protective of our exquisite wooden instruments.
Therefore we have strict parameters for outdoor performances. Shade on a sunny day is required. Tents would be the best bet. When we arrive we will search for the shadiest spot that is closest to the ceremony.
Secondly, have a firm “plan B” in case of inclement weather. In the event of precipitation, we will need be entirely indoors or in a tent with all 4 enclosed walls (a simple top covering with open sides will not adequately protect our instruments from mist, sideways driving rain, or backsplash).
Note that our instruments cannot be played in wet conditions. Even light rain or mist are off-limits. If there is no 100% rain-free location available, then our instruments will not be able to be played which means we will not be able to perform.
If it is 62 degrees or below, we require a space heater to be placed by our musicians. If the temperature drops to 54 degrees or below, there will need to be an alternate indoor location or else our fingers, our strings, and our bows will not work properly.
If it is 54 degrees or lower and there is no alternate indoor location, then we cannot perform. We must be indoors if it is 54 degrees or below, because a four-walled tent will not be enough to shield our instruments and fingers from the cold temperatures. We reserve the right to move ourselves to the best area of the event at our discretion.

For most weddings, 1 hour of booking should suffice. This will include 30 minutes of prelude music (as your guests arrive) + 30 minutes for the wedding ceremony itself.
Of course, the length of your ceremony depends entirely on the person officiating your wedding. If your officiant likes to talk, then your ceremony will last quite a bit longer!
